Israeli cybersecurity startup Cybereason said it raised $100 million from SoftBank Group (TOKYO: 9984).

SoftBank is Cybereason’s biggest investor and one of its biggest customers and distribution partners.

Cybereason has raised to date a total of $189 million in venture capital from SoftBank, CRV, Spark Capital, and Lockheed Martin. This new funding round solidifies Cybereason and its Total Endpoint Protection platform as a leading cybersecurity solution provider, with 500 percent growth in revenue and nearly 200 percent growth in employees across the globe last year, according to the company.

Co-founded in 2012 by Lior Dov, CEO, Yonatan Striem-Amit, CTO, and Yossi Naar, CVO, members of the Israeli intelligence agency’s elite cyber-sec Unit 8200, the Cybereason platform mirrors the founders’ expertise in handling some of world’s most complex hacking operations.

Cybereason is privately held and headquartered in Boston with offices in Tel Aviv, London, and Tokyo. The company’s SaaS technology and advanced monitoring services protect hundreds of Fortune 1000 companies from highly advanced attacks, including the recent global WannaCry Ransomware attack.

Cybereason offers endpoint detection and response, next-generation antivirus, and managed monitoring services. its platform is powered by a custom-built in-memory graph, the only truly automated hunting engine anywhere. It detects behavioral patterns across every endpoint and surfaces malicious operations through a user-friendly interface.

“We are thrilled with our incredible growth but we are never satisfied because hackers still have a big advantage over the vast majority of corporations,” said Cybereason co-founder and CEO Lior Div. “This new funding allows us to increase our growth through new distribution channels and to develop new technologies.”

“Our strengthened partnership with SoftBank, which has a formidable sales force and enterprise customer base in Japan and a global reach, will also enable us to further expand our presence in the cybersecurity market,” he added.

“Cybereason’s products are truly amazing. SoftBank tested a number of cybersecurity products from all over the world, but Cybereason’s products are by far better than those of their competitors. We strongly believe Cybereason will be one of the global leaders in cybersecurity,” said Ken Miyauchi, President and CEO, SoftBank Corp., a subsidiary of SoftBank Group.

SoftBank is a global technology player that aspires to drive the information revolution. The SoftBank Group holding company owns a global portfolio of companies, including advanced telecommunications, internet services, AI, smart robotics, IoT and clean energy technology providers.
